BH76 Antique Japanese Kimono Haori Butterfly Crest.

Some very light spots here and there, nothing to worry about. The butterfly crest is one of the most sought in women's haoris; the pom-pom himo are a nice accent to the pink and white lining, too!

BH75 Antique Japanese Kimono Haori Kiku Tachibana.

Some yellow staining on the lining and a couple of very light spots on the shell that are not significant. The red embroidery really stands out on this white pattern on a black ground. The himo and the red-embroidered crest are wonderful accents, too!

BH74 Antique Japanese Kimono Haori Tsuta Crest.

A vague spot on the back of the sleeve shown in the picture bottom right, but as you can see it is not very noticeable and when worn it will pretty much disappear. The theme here is spools of thread and what might be either gift boxes or perhaps pincusions. The colors stand out brilliantly against the black ground; the lining is spotted, but this one doesn't lend itself to being worn reversed anyway, so this should not trouble you.

SOLD BH73 Antique Japanese Kimono Haori Sukashi.

This openwork pattern is called 'Sukashi' and in this case is a pattern of bamboo. These haoris are lovely worn over something bright to show off the cutwork pattern! Soft Ro silk means that it is not stiff and over-structured. Single crest of Hearts and Swords, get this one fast!

BH72 Antique Japanese Kimono Haori, Fukurashi-Ori.

Fukurashi-ori is characterized by its swelling woven patterns. It's hard to see in the photos, but the white leaves are raised and sort of 'puffy' resting on the black surface. The leaves are vertically arranged in graduated sizes which lends a vague striped effect. Nicely colorful liner and himo too!

Pattern: Womans Haori with a design of the garden fences. The background is very dark purple, almost black. The pattern is white bamboo garden fences.

SOLD BH65 Antique Kimono Black Haori, Painted Iris In White Grass.

This seems to be Yuzen, or painted with dye; I won't say absolutely that it is, but it sure appears to be.  The spectacular white broad-bladed grasses being present on the front as well as the back is an especially nice touch; the very few pink/red irises give it an elegance and balance that is hard to match.  The liner is quiet, but the narrow blue drawings of blossoms are just the right addition to this very unique haori.  Specs:

This one is SO much better in person!  The random, pale smoky pattern of the Rinzu is probably grass rather than smoke; either way it is the perfect backdrop for the starkly simple renderings of deer, embroidered in pink.  Pink himo and a liner of large but subtle blooms complete it nicely.  Specs:
