SOLD Antique Japanese Kimono Nagoya Obi NO17
Pattern: Woven pattern of cranes, clouds and plants;
the plants seem vague, which makes sense as the
cranes are in flight. I think we are seeing the
plants on the ground far below, perhaps with the
same perspective as the cranes. Colors are bone,
green, copper and rust with black details.
Comments: This is an older piece, dating to the
middle 1940's; a war-time piece, if you will. Even
that considered, it is in excellent condition and
will make a nice addition to your wardrobe or
collection.

Pattern: Hanhaba Obi with diagonal stripes. Black
background with diagonal metallic silver stripes for
the whole length of the front side.
Comments: Polyester blend. This is technically
Hanhaba Fukuro, says Kiro; the entire length of the
front is striped, while the entire length of the
back is the fine patterned white. It is a casual obi
for wear with Yukata but may also be worn with Komon
kimono.

Comments: Polyester blend. This is technically
Hanhaba Maru, says my Kiro, since it is identically
patterned for the entire length on both sides. It is
a casual obi for wear with Yukata but may also be
worn with Komon kimono.

Pattern: Maru Fukuro obi with a design of ancient
landscape pictures. Pine trees, old temples and
flying cranes embroidered throughout.
Comments: Wedding Maru obi, full length and both
sides decorated; one piece folded over construction
rather than two pieces joined along the long edges.
Antique excellent condition, use it traditionally or
as anything from a window treatment to a table
runner.

Antique Japanese Kimono Maru Obi MO21
Pattern: Maru Fukuro obi with design of waves and
pine trees in gold, red and green.
Comments: Wedding Maru obi, full length and both
sides decorated; one weave of silk folded instead of
two pieces joined along both long edges. It is used,
but an excellent condition obi. Silk Maru obi are
getting more difficult to acquire and more of the
unscrupulous are selling Fukuro Obi as Maru.

Han Haba Obi, Cotton Rag Weave, Red.
A very thin, sturdy but flexible han haba obi in red
cotton or perhaps a cotton blend. The only
ornament is the silver banding at the ends.
Excellent condition, it measures 5 5/8" wide and
120" long. It is $30.00.
